UTMB CHAMONIX 2024– The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) is one of the toughest ultra-trail events in the world. It takes place every year from 26 August to 1 September in Chamonix. The competition is contested by three countries: France, Italy and Switzerland. All the races take place in an alpine environment specific to each country.

TDS (Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie): Distance: 146 KM / Total climb: 9300 M+ / Start date: 26 August 2024.
CCC (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix) Distance: 101 KM / Total climb: 6050 M+ / Start date: 30 August 2024.
OCC (Orsières-Champex-Chamonix) Distance: 57 km / Total climb: 3,500+ metres / Start date: 29 August 2024.
PTL (La Petite Trotte à Léon) Distance: 300 km / Total climb: 25,000+ metres / Start date: 26 August 2024.
MCC (Martigny-Combe-Chamonix) Distance: 40 KM / Ascent: 2350 M+ / Start date: 26 August 2024.
Conditions of Acceptance and Registration for the UTMB Chamonix 2024
To take part in the UTMB, you need to meet specific criteria and follow a rigorous registration process. Here are the main stages and conditions:
1. Qualification
To register, runners must prove that they have the necessary experience by accumulating qualification points in UTMB-approved races. Points are awarded on the basis of the distances and difficulties of the races in which you have taken part. Conditions of eligibility for the UTMB Chamonix
2. Registration
Registration for the UTMB is subject to a draw after the pre-registration period. Here are the steps to follow:
-Pre-registration: This is generally done in January. Riders must submit their application online and provide proof of their qualifying points.
-Pull: Available places are allocated by a draw, often in February, and selected riders will be informed by e-mail. Runners selected will be notified by email.
-Final Registration: After being drawn, runners must complete their registration by paying the registration fee and providing the necessary documents.
How do I get to Chamonix for the UTMB?
The closest airports to Chamonix are Geneva (Switzerland), Lyon-Saint Exupéry, and Milan-Malpensa (Italy). Geneva airport is the most convenient, about an hour’s drive away.
Geneva airport: This is the main international airport near Chamonix. We offer a private driver service available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Lyon airport: About 3 hours away, Transfert Chamonix also offers daily shuttles to and from Lyon airport. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Milan Airport: About 3 hours away by car, it is also possible to book your transfer online.
